Clinical Pilates
Our Pilates practitioners have over 20 years experience instructing Pilates at various studios throughout both Inner City Melbourne and Regional Victoria. Our practitioners have trained through various different internationally recognized Pilates training organizations including Polestar Pilates International and Breathe Education.
If you’re new to Pilates, the best place to start would be with an initial consultation where you will be taken through various assessments in order for our practitioners to get the best picture of your needs. They then develop a specific individualized program to help you reach your goals. You will be shown how to connect with your body through the use of breath and controlled movement by using Pilates-based exercises on our various Pilates apparatus at our studio. At the completion of the initial assessment, we will discuss which class type would be most appropriate for you.
1:1 Clinical Pilates
Want to get the most out of your session? One-on-one sessions give you full use of the studio with one of our experienced practitioners. These can be half hour or hour sessions using all the studio has to offer. This is a great way to start out or to add to your regime to nail that exercise that’s been giving you a challenge.
Semi Private 1:2 & 1:4
We also offer duets (1 : 2) and semi private (1 : 4) supervised Clinical Pilates sessions to ensure that you are given the supervision and support needed to exercise at your best. During these sessions, our highly experienced practitioners will take you through your own individually tailored program, whether for injury rehab or general fitness, your program is based on your specific goals, needs, and injury history. Sessions utilize the whole studio, including Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Ladder Barrel, Wunda Chair, and props.
Pilates for Pregnancy
Our pre & post-natal Pilates is incorporated into our semi-private groups and provides a safe way of exercising, giving you tools for deep support and mental strength throughout your pregnancy, as well as post-pregnancy to help reconnect with your body and recover from giving birth. Our sessions help you create strength in preparation for labour and recovery post birth and also helps you avoid common problems that occur during and after pregnancy such as – backache, postural imbalances, low-energy levels and poor circulation.
If you are postnatal, we recommend waiting for 6 – 8 weeks after birth, depending on your circumstances. A doctor’s clearance is recommended prior to commencing any exercise.
For new mums we recommend semi-private studio appointments.
